Dan and Matt's Xero Journal part 4
Words, actions and footballs
Well who saw that coming? England out of the World Cup? To Germany you say? Never! Nein Nein Nien! Well, 10 actually, South Africa 2010 and England are goners. The combined efforts of world beaters Upson, Barry and ‘two left feet would be a staggering improvement’ Emile Heskey have surprisingly proved incapable of beating any country with a population over 12 or any nation whose Prime Minister doesn’t double up as some 1850’s cockney shoe shine.
Apparently there was some controversy about a disallowed goal clearly crossing the line or something, I wouldn’t know, I didn’t see it; I was too busy refereeing the match... (Insert symbol crash here).
And the reaction has been pretty standard too- new coach, ditch the older players, new tactics, new players, new ideas.
Well this all sounds pretty familiar, in fact it had happened just over a month before when we had a new government (ConDem United), a new coach (David ‘cutter’ Cameron), we ditched the older players (Brown) and brought in new tactics and idea for our country (4.4.2 is being cut I hear for a more deficit clearing 1.1.0)
Meanwhile however, last week the government did outline its ideas on the Green future by throwing Chris Huhne centre forward to explain a few things for us at the UK energy summit. ”We’ve inherited bad habits” he said, just after clarifying for everyone that the pope is indeed a Catholic, and outlined the government pledge to make “this the greenest government ever”. So far, very wise, very noble and very, very obvious. While simultaneously seemingly making big promises and nailing down none, Mr Huhne did at least give us one token for thought that “no less than £200 billion of investment is needed in our energy infrastructure over the next decade”.
And what do these greener incentives mean for Xero and electric vehicles as a whole? Well for one thing, once the Xero car does begin production, you lucky people will be eligible to 5 grand off its retail price and when we add that to the lovely incentives already being offered of no road tax, cheap insurance and the gazillions (never one to exaggerate) of new charge points being put up around the country, meaning we see zero (as well as Xero) reasons why we can’t help start cleaning up our environment together.
But why us, why now? Well I would like to announce on this blog the start of our network marketing scheme, essentially making all of our customers certified Xero agents and giving you the chance to earn a little bit back on the investment, find out more here. Alongside this announcement, I would also like to declare the launch of a little project of ours, X-TV, where you fortunate readers will finally be able to put a face to the madman scribbling away his thoughts here, as well as see some of our products in action. Oh these be exciting times.
